Registration for CODE Programme 2024

Coaching, Organisation Development, and Engagement (CODE) Programme is a series of tailor-made training sessions exclusively designed for officers of student organisations. Its primary goal is to equip students with essential knowledge and practical skills necessary for the development and growth of your respective student organisations. This 31 May 2024 (Friday), two CCL recognised workshops and an information session capturing all you need to know for planning the orientation activities, enrolment/registration days, and promotion week will be organised specifically for student officers from 1:30 pm – 5 pm (registration starts at 1:15 pm)- revised- at Learning Commons AAB 402 K & L. These workshops aim to enhance your personal management skills and provide valuable insights and smart tips on how to protect your society and support your fellow members effectively.

Workshop I: Protect Your Society: Be Financially Responsible
The focus of this session is to provide important tips and reminders on seeking sponsorships, purchasing, handling sales agreements, and, most importantly, maintaining accurate and organised financial records for student organisations. Effective record-keeping is vital for ensuring financial transparency and accountability for all members. The session will be led by an esteemed alumnus who previously served as an executive committee member of the Students’ Union and is now a certified Accountant.
 
During this session, student officers will gain the necessary knowledge and tools to navigate financial matters confidently. You will learn best practices for documenting income, expenditures, and financial transactions, ensuring compliance with the newfinancial regulations, and fostering good financial stewardship.

Workshop II: Becoming a Smart and Professional Student Leader
Managing a student society requires a combination of skillsets and student officers will be encountering different scenarios which demand professional handling. Advice on data protection, sexual harassment and equal opportunities as well as real examples relevant to the operations of student organisations will be shared by the trainer. Tips on how to protect your student organisation from falling into any unlawful acts will also be provided.
